CD Project RED kept its promise and fixed a vulnerability in Cyberpunk 2077, which allowed attackers to take control of users’ computers using mods and user saves.
This week CD Project RED announced that it is aware of the problem and promised to fix it as soon as possible. Now, all users are strongly encouraged to patch 1.12 for the PC version of this fantastic RPG, which fixes a bug.

Users can already download the patch on all services where Cyberpunk 2077 is sold, including Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store. The patch description states that this update addresses a vulnerability that could be exploited as part of remote code execution (including save files):
- Fixed buffer overflow issue
- Removed / replaced non-ASLR DLLs
Praise CD Project RED for such a quick response, it is hoped that the company will continue to rapidly improve the quality of the game.
