Offshore oil company Talos Energy announced yesterday, Sunday, that oil spill, caused by an unknown cause in the US Gulf of Mexico, appears to have declined.
A team of divers was operating yesterday at the site of the leak in the area of the Gulf of Mexico in the Gulf of Mexico, in order to locate the source and the exact point of the oil spill that formed a black spot several kilometers long in the Gulf of Mexico after the passage of Hurricane Ida.
Cleaning teams were deployed at the site of the leak yesterday to reduce the stain and locate the leak. The oil spill was visible from the air off the coast of Louisiana.
“No black oil has been observed in the last 24 hours. “To date, no impact has been observed on the coastline or in the wild,” Talos Energy spokesman Brian Grove said in a statement.
A U.S. Coast Guard spokesman did not immediately return calls for comment.
An inspection by divers and the use of a sonar device did not reveal any cracks connected to the company’s oil pipeline network.
A 30-centimeter section of the submarine was found to have shifted from its original position and bent to rupture, according to Grove.
