Cyprus: A student did not want to take a rapid test and is watching the lesson from the window

Sensation is caused by a photo circulating on Social Media in which a high school student from the province of Larnaca is shown attending a lesson from the classroom window.

That said pupil he was left out of the classroom on the one hand because he did not want to take a rapid test, as provided by the decrees, and on the other hand because he did not want to miss his classes.

The boy spoke on Omega’s noon show and said the school principal had warned him that if he did not leave the school, he would call the police. The district inspector called the student’s father to give him time to reconsider taking a rapid test, according to philenews.com.

Asked the reasons why he does not want to proceed with the test, the student said that he is opposed “to the obligation of the measure imposed by the Ministries of Health and Education.”

«I have some knowledge of biology. The book writes about the blood-brain barrier. It is dangerous for the swab to enter the nose because there may be some damage to the cell tissue, resulting in pathogens passing into the brain.».

The student noted that both his parents and himself described them as negative, which, as he stated, is not true. “It is not possible to put up signs just because someone has a different opinion,” the student said. “I am not against epidemiological surveillance, but I can not accept scientifically unsubstantiated measuresHe said.

Asked if his teachers agreed to watch his lessons from the classroom window, the student said it was not their business whether he would stay there.

“They just made it clear to me that they have instructions that I should not enter the classroom. “I have a very good relationship with my teachers and there are many who agree with what I say, yet carry out orders,” he said.

Concluding he mentioned that the school does not have the proper technical support and therefore could not do distance learning.
