Cyprus and Ukraine in the meeting N. Dendia – I. Kasoulidis

On the Cyprus issue, the situation in Ukraine and the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, the one-hour talks between Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and his Cypriot counterpart Ioannis Kasoulidis focused on the coordination between Athens and Nicosia.

In a short time, around 12:55, Nikos Dendias will receive at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Israeli counterpart of Gair Lapid, with whom he will have private and extended talks. Talks between the Greek and Israeli Foreign Ministers are expected to cover the situation in Ukraine, developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, as well as close Greek-Israeli co-operation in all areas.

Then, around 15:10, the extended talks will follow in the framework of the Tripartite Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Greece, Israel and Cyprus. Talks between the three countries’ foreign ministers are expected to focus on further strengthening their close co-operation in various fields, such as energy, civil protection, the economy and the fight against terrorism, with the ultimate goal of promoting peace, security, stability and prosperity. in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The three ministers are also expected to address security challenges in the wider region, as well as the scope for expanding co-operation with other states. Joint statements to the press will follow at around 16:15.

It is noted that the tripartite Meeting follows the corresponding Meeting held in Jerusalem last August, as well as the Summit that also took place in Jerusalem last December.
