Cyprus: Citizens will be able to be vaccinated through the “walk-in” centers

In operation vaccines “walk-in” centers is advancing its Ministry of Health Of Cyprus from tomorrow, Thursday 15 July, in order to facilitate the citizens for their access to the vaccination. Walk-in centers are a practice already practiced in other foreign countries and aim to strengthen the vaccination effort.

In Cyprus, these centers will operate in all provinces and will be housed in existing vaccination centers, in order to serve citizens who wish to be vaccinated but have not scheduled an appointment in advance through the Vaccination Portal. At the moment, in the “walk-in” centers it will be possible to vaccinate people who are beneficiaries of the General Health System with a possible extension in the future to cover both the non-beneficiaries or those not contracted with the GESS. Individuals will come to the specific centers to be vaccinated with the 1st dose and not with the 2nd dose, while a priority order will be observed according to the attendance of the citizens (“first-come, first-served” practice).

The Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine will currently be given to walk-in centers. Opening hours will be from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 to 13:00 at the following locations:

  • Nicosia District – Latsia Health Center
  • Limassol District – Linopetra Health Center
  • Larnaca District – Port
  • Paphos District – Paphos General Hospital
  • Famagusta District – Famagusta General Hospital

It is emphasized that the appointments of the people who have been scheduled through the Vaccination Portal are not affected and will be processed normally at the vaccination center, on the day and at the time that they were closed by each beneficiary.

Beneficiaries must provide proof of identification (identity card, passport, Alien Registration Card, etc.).
