A relevant announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus refers to the possible complete lifting of the US arms embargo against the Republic of Cyprus.
As noted, two separate concepts were mentioned regarding the possibility of a complete lifting of the US embargo:
First, the institutional process to address the issue is about to begin without, of course, prejudging the outcome of US internal processes.
Secondly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus considers that the Republic of Cyprus has now fulfilled all the conditions of the law “Eastern Mediterranean Security and Energy Partnership Act of 2019” passed by the US Congress on the proposal of Senators Menendez and Rubio, therefore expects a happy outcome .
