The Nicosia Criminal Court today imposed a sentence of 2.5 years and 15 months in prison respectively on two Hungarians who acknowledged accusations for usurpation of Greek Cypriots in the occupied territories. Both were charged with a fraudulent trading offense for other property. The first defendant by Hungary, a retired aesthetic, had admitted 21 out of 63 charges for promoting and advertising housing in Kyrenia, and the second defendant, also by Hungary, a hairdresser in the profession, acknowledged her guilt in 6 of the 63 categories. For the other categories, criminal prosecution was suspended. The court focused on the seriousness of the offenses, noting that, although the two defendants were not ranked at the top of the usurper pyramid, they were an important link in the chain of illegal action.
