Over 600 image and video files child pornography Authorities located a 36-year-old man in Cyprus.
Members of the Cybercrime Prosecution Branch proceeded to arrest him, following information received from the EUROPOL that a specific account holder / user posted a child pornography file to another user on his / her social networking platform.
Relevant information from the Police Of Cyprus reports that the 36-year-old was arrested on Sunday (7/3/2021) with a court arrest warrant in Paphos, while in his possession was found a mobile phone which was confiscated as a presumption. Also, during a search that followed at his residence in Paphos, another mobile phone was located and received.
Preliminary examinations of the items so far have identified more than 600 child pornography images and videos.
The 36-year-old was then brought before the Paphos District Court, where an eight-day detention order was issued against him.
The Cybercrime Prosecution Division continues the examinations.
