Cyprus: Storm of reactions for Dutch MP’s visit to the Occupied Territories

You support ethnic cleansing and occupation“, Commenting on the actions of Lian Den Haan, the Minister of Finance of Cyprus, Konstantinos Petridis, states, quoting on his personal Twitter account the relevant post of the Dutch MP.

According to the Athenian News Agency, a similar move was preceded by a move by Democratic Alarm and EPP MEP Loukas Fourlas, who also quoted the Dutch MP’s tweet.

Lucas Fourlas tweeted to Ms. Hahn that his recent visit was to European territory occupied by Turkey, whose flag is located just behind it. He also stressed that it is a shame for her to talk about “Turkish democracy in northern Cyprus”, while calling on her to answer if she knew where she was going.
