Cyprus supplies light attack helicopters from France

An agreement between the Republic of Cyprus and the French Republic for the supply of 6 Light Attack Helicopters H145M of the company Airbus Helicopters, with the right to exercise an option to acquire another 6, was signed today at the Ministry of Defense of Cyprus.

According to a relevant announcement of the Cypriot Ministry of Defense, the H145M light attack helicopter, capable of operating in demanding environments day and night, will enhance the capabilities of the Hellenic Armed Forces for rapid response, mass firing, accurate targeting and close proximity and collection missions. information.

In his greeting, the Minister of Defense of Cyprus Charalambos Petridis stressed that “our unwavering goal is the quality upgrade of the capabilities of the National Guard, with modern means, equipment and capabilities, to be a reliable deterrent and defense force.”

Mr. Petridis added that “the continuing Turkish provocation combined with the revisionist tendency of Turkey and the ongoing occupation leave us no room for complacency. We must have a strong deterrent to the defense and security of our country and our citizens.”

The French Ambassador to Cyprus, Salina Grenet-Catalano, expressed confidence that this agreement would strengthen security and regional stability and further strengthen European defense and bilateral corporate defense cooperation.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Defense by Mr. DG Andreas Loukas and on behalf of Airbus Helicopters by the Executive Vice President Mr. Olivier Michalon.
