Two girls in Cyprus fell into well 40 meters and finally after 2.5 hours one of them managed to climb up and ask for help, for her sister.
The two children, aged 11.5 and 9.5, were playing when the makeshift cover of the well in the backyard caved in. Nicosiaaccording to the representative of the Cyprus Fire Service, Andreas Ketti.
The two girls remained there for 2.5 hours calling for help, but without response. Eventually, the younger child climbed into a tube, traveling 40m to the surface, according to Mr Ketti, and alerted their parents.
Firefighters recovered her sister, 11.5 years old, “with no apparent serious injury”, he noted. “Well done to the little girls for their boldness and courage! Well done to our members of the Nicosia Fire Stations for a flawless and successful operation rescue!”, he added in his post.
