Protection instructions
The Ministry of Health of Cyprus has issued instructions for heat protection measures, highlighting what should be avoided and what should be preferred.
- Avoid exposure and activities in sunlight especially between the hours of 11 am. – 4 p.m. It is better to stay in a cool part of the house or outside in the shade. Activities are best avoided.
- We avoid “heavy” foods and prefer light ones.
- Avoid exposing the face to the sun and use hats and umbrellas.
- We use sunscreen cream at least half an hour before exposure to the sun.
- NO to alcoholic drinks YES to water and juices.
- We avoid clothes that bring discomfort. We prefer comfortable clothes with light colors.
- We do not leave infants and small children exposed to increased sunlight, but we constantly take care of them.
- We never leave children alone in a closed car or other closed vehicle. The temperature inside the car can quickly become much higher than the outside temperature and continue to rise to lethal temperatures.
- We avoid hot closed spaces without good ventilation and prefer spaces with air conditioners and fans and certainly with very good ventilation.
- We make sure that our house is “cooled” with the morning and evening air and we protect it from the hot weather helium with windows.
- Cool water in the body helps to reduce the temperature.
