Companies in the Czech defense industry will repair Ukrainian heavy military equipment in response to a recent request from the Kiev authorities, the Czech Ministry of Defense announced today.
Initially, subsidiaries of the Czechoslovak Industrial Group (CSG) will undertake the repair of Soviet-designed T-64 tanks used by Ukrainian forces, but in the future this work could be extended to BRD and BRDM armored vehicles. , with the involvement of other Czech companies, according to a ministry press release.
“The Czech Republic is the first partner country that the Ukrainian side has formally approached with a request for mutual cooperation in the repair of ground equipment, which must be put into operation or destroyed during the fighting,” said Czech Defense Minister Jana Chenotsova.
