A crowdfunding campaign aimed at raising money for arms shipments to Ukraine has raised more than $30 million from more than 100,000 supporters since it was launched last month, the Czech Defense Ministry says.
The donations are being used to buy weapons and other military supplies that Ukraine needs to defend itself from Russian invasion, according to a statement from the government of the Czech Republic.
“Weapons, military equipment and ammunition that the Ukrainian military and the Territorial Defense Force urgently need to fill depleted stockpiles are part of the supply,” the ministry said.
The Czech government claims to have made $185 million in military supplies available that can be purchased with money from the crowdfunding campaign.
“Heavy military systems and munitions of ‘oriental’ design are also being considered for delivery to Ukraine.
