Just over 210,000 people were vaccinated against flu, measles and Covid-19, during the “D-Day” of vaccination, held this Saturday (4) by the city hall of the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

According to the Municipal Health Department, at least 450 posts were made available throughout the city for the application of doses, with the aim of increasing adherence to immunization campaigns.

The municipality also added that it also decided to include the population over six months of age in the vaccination against influenza, regardless of whether they belong to any priority group.

This Saturday alone, about 139,000 people were vaccinated against the flu, 69,000 received the immunization against Covid-19, and just over 5,400 babies and children aged between six months and four years old, were vaccinated with the MMR – which protects against measles, rubella and mumps.

The City Hall of Rio highlighted that those who were unable to get vaccinated on this D-Day, can look for the municipal health units to update the vaccination book, starting next Monday (6). Vaccines will be offered while supplies last.
