D. Kuleba: ‘Russia insists on ultimatums’ – Denies reports on progress of negotiations on 4 points

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said on Friday that peace talks with Russia were difficult and denied reports that progress had been made in resolving four of the six key issues, Reuters reported.

“There is no consensus with Russia on the four points,” Kuleba said in a Facebook post.

“The negotiation process is very difficult. The Ukrainian delegation has taken a strong position and is not giving up on its demands. We insist, first of all, on the ceasefire, the security guarantees and the territorial integrity of Ukraine.” Earlier, Turkish broadcaster NTV and others cited President Tayyip Erdogan, who said progress had been made in the talks.

Kuleba later wrote on Twitter that “there is still no consensus in the negotiations”, protesting that “Russia adheres to the ultimatums”.

He added: “In order to stimulate a more constructive approach, we need two things: more sanctions and more military assistance to Ukraine.”
