Along with 2.5 GbE ports, the DMS-106XT equipment includes one 10 GbE port. According to the manufacturer, 2.5 GbE ports are designed to connect computers, and a 10 GbE port can be used to connect storage for quick access to data, backup or data recovery. The switch has a Turbo mode that delivers extremely low latency for high quality streaming and gaming with one click. A configurable LED indicator provides instant feedback to indicate connection status. The ports are backward compatible with existing cabling and equipment, so the switch can be deployed where additional bandwidth is required without costly and time-consuming cable replacement or hardware replacement costs.
