D. Mantzos: The whole truth should be told to the Greek citizens about the Androulaki case

Ahead of the start of parliamentary work on Monday, August 22, PASOK-Movement for Change spokesperson Dimitris Manzos spoke to Sky TV about a very critical week. While he characterized the Parliament as “the institutional state body that must actively contribute to the clarification of the case of monitoring and attempting to trap the mobile phone of Nikos Androulakis”.

“We insist on the Institutions and Transparency Committee because it is the only body that supervises the EYP parliamentaryly, controls it and guarantees its democratic operation. We want the former and current administration of the EYP, the ADAE and the co-competent ministers and that this time the government and the EYP tell the whole truth to our parliamentarians and by extension to all citizens”, he characteristically asserted.

The press representative of PASOK-Movement of Change reiterated at the same time the two questions that are raised, as he said, on the matter and must be answered institutionally: “First, what exactly is happening with the admitted monitoring of the EYP and who and why considered Nikos Androulakis “a spy” ” at the expense of the country. And, secondly, what exactly has happened with the Predator? It turns out that someone – who? monitoring by the EYP”.

Asked about the government’s request for a decade-long audit, Dimitris Manzos underlined that “as we are specific, we want every parliamentary group with its own request to do the same. If they have corresponding tangible evidence, let them submit it, the Parliament is open from tomorrow”.

And he added: “If, for example, ND’s KO comes and tells us that while Mr. Tsipras was prime minister in the previous period there were similar practices or that we have to go even further back to the period when Mr. Samaras was prime minister and the EYP was under the political supervision of Mr. Dendias and Mr. Kikilia, and there are tangible proofs for this, we are here to discuss it, always in favor of Democracy and transparency,” he added.

He pointed out, however, that “our request for a Commission of Inquiry concerns the case of Nikos Androulakis. A case that is very serious and concerns the Republic and concerns all citizens. It is not his personal case, because things like “to go to closed offices and be told this in his ear”. Explanations must be given to the citizens”, requested D. Manzos.
