The importance of socialization and the cultivation of the autonomy of people with disabilities, through creative activities, stressed the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Domna Michailidou, during her speech at the inauguration of the first Center for Creative Employment of Children with Disabilities in Tripoli.
Ms. Michailidou made special reference to the important role played by KDAP – meA in local communities. As the Undersecretary explained, these structures promote the development of skills, teamwork, cooperation, while at the same time improving the quality of life of the entire family of people with disabilities.
Domna Michailidou stated that: “The social integration of people with disabilities has been and remains our priority. That is why we effectively use all available mechanisms and support in all possible ways initiatives of extroversion, inclusion and independent living for our fellow citizens with disabilities. “We implement welfare policies that ensure the social integration of people with disabilities, their autonomous living and the simultaneous strengthening of their families.”
During her visit to Tripoli, the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs also visited the Tenth Nursing Home of the local Diocese, a model structure providing services to the elderly citizens of the country. Mrs. Michailidou had the opportunity to talk to the guests and the employees of the structure, always observing all the necessary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
