D23: see new features announced by Disney for parks and cruises

The first panel of the D23 Brazil this Saturday (9) announced news in Disney theme parks and cruises . The event for fans began in São Paulo on Friday (8) and runs until Sunday (10).

In the first panel this Saturday (9), the news was presented by actress Larissa Manoela and the chairman of Disney Experience Josh D’Amaro. Also present were Michael Hudgen, from Walt Disney Imagineering and Kevin Feige, president of Marvel .

Cruise lines

The panel’s first announcement was about two new Disney Cruise Line lines, which already have five ships and which, by 2031, it aims to have 30 .

The line “Destiny ” promises to be inspired by “Black Panther ” and will have a statue of the Marvel character. In addition, restaurants inspired by “The Lion King ” and “Cruella ” and an attraction of “Hercules ”.

The new line is scheduled for November 2025. Next month, on December 21, Disney will launch the “Disney Treasure ”, with spaces for “Haunted Mansion ” and characters from “Moana ”, “Zootopia ” and “Aladdin ”.


Disney plans to have 30 ships by 2031 to carry out themed cruises inspired by its productions

Theme parks

Afterwards, the speakers announced new attractions at the theme parks.

Magic Kingdom

A new “Pirates of the Caribbean ” will be built in the park. Another novelty is a new night stop, which will use technology Disney Starlight and will feature characters from “Frozen “, “Charm ” and “Moana ”.

New experiences will also be opened in the existing Frontierland area – which will be redesigned. Speakers showed off a race and showed road tests for the first time to reveal what the attraction inspired by “Cars ”.

Hollywood Studios

The announcement of a new villain show, entitled “World of Villains”, at Hollywood Studios, provoked excited reactions from the audience in São Paulo. The attraction will feature characters such as “Maleficent ” and “Captain Hook ”.

Another new feature is a new “Monsters Inc. ”, which will be inspired by the fictional city in the film, Monstropolis . A suspended roller coaster will also be opened for the first time, with hanging doors, just like in the animation scenes.

AnimalKingdom

At Animal Kingdom, a show titled “Zootopia: Better Zoogether! ” will be opened near the Tree of Life, the park’s main attraction.

Another new feature will be a new area called “Tropical America ”. Based on regional references from Ecuador and Mexico, the location will be simulated as a tropical forest.

In this new location, a “Charm ” will also be inaugurated, to the delight of fans. Another attraction there will be inspired by “Indiana Jones ”, with an ancient Mayan temple as a backdrop.


Epcot

At Epcot, the renovation of the Test Track will open in 2025. The park will also have a new lounge in Spaceship Earth which offers views of Dreamer’s Point where there is a statue of Walt Disney.


Paris and California Parks

The Disney parks in Paris, France and California, in the United States, also gained new features.

In Paris, it will be launched a new “Frozen” resort . In California, new experiences based on “Avatar ” and “Viva: Life is a Party ” for 2026.

Next year, construction of the expansion of the “Avengers: Campus ” will also be held in California.

The name “D23 ” carries a special meaning, with the “D” representing Disney and the “23” referring to the year in which Walt Disney opened his first studio in Hollywood in 1923.
