Daily Covid-19 Deaths Set New Record in Bulgaria and Ukraine

Bulgaria reported a record number of daily deaths by Covid-19 on Tuesday (8). The discharge was also registered in Ukraine, which reported 833 deaths in 24 hours. Both are among the least vaccinated countries against Covid-19 in the European Union.

In Bulgaria, the last period registered 334 deaths caused by Covid-19, the highest number since the beginning of the pandemic. More than 8,500 people occupy hospital beds to treat the disease in the country, including 734 in intensive care units (ICU).

The Balkan country introduced a health passport in most enclosed spaces last month in an effort to contain the spread of the infection and speed up vaccinations in the country, where just 30% of adults have received full vaccinations.

Ukraine, meanwhile, has reported a total of 3.11 million coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic and 73,390 deaths. 18,988 new infections were reported in the last 24 hours.
