Daisy Jones & The Six, the first images and the release date of the miniseries

The wait is over: Prime Video has announced thea release date of the miniseries Daisy Jones & The Sixbased on the homonymous novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid (published in Italy by Sperling & Kupfer). From March 3rd and until the 24th (with an episode released every Friday), the audience of Amazon’s streaming platform can do a trip to the glorious Seventies full of sex, drugs and rock and roll, following the namesake band, born precisely from the vibrant imagination of the writer.

The ascending and descending parabola of the group comes to life from the meeting of two very talented singers: Daisy Jones is played by Riley Keough, Elvis Priesley’s niece (yes, genetics don’t lie!), while Billy Dunne has the face of Sam Claflinfamous thanks to the film saga of Hunger Games (no, it won’t be in the currently in production prequel titled Ballad of the Nightingale and the Serpenttaken from the new book by Suzanne Collins, available in Italy for Mondadori).

The cast includes: the teen idol Camila Morrone (Camila Dunne) and Suki Waterhouse, the girlfriend of Robert Pattinson (Karen Sirko), while the actor/musician Josh Whitehouse becomes Eddie Roundtree, already seen in Poldark and romantic hero of the Christmas comedy with Vanessa Hudgens A Knight for Christmas on Netflix. Will Harrison is Graham Dunne and Timotht Olyphant transforms into Rod Reyes.

The ten episodes follow a documentary stylewith interviews and archive material artfully constructed to feed this myth: in literary fiction the band The Six had a meteoric rise in the Los Angeles music scene, with three iconic albums and stadium concerts, before disappearing into thin air at the height of glory. The project brings together the members of the group and tries to reveal what lies behind the mysterious breakup.

Daisy comes from the sophisticated bourgeoisie but wants at all costs to scratch life by conquering the clubs of the City of Angels while Billy has a very different past, made up of excesses, an unreceived father (who he shares with his brother Graham) and a marriage stormy with Camila. These two taken individually are amazing, but together they really rock even if at first he resists meeting her, a young woman imposed by the production and who seems to have nothing to do with his music.

However, no one can explain why in 1979, after one of their cult performances, the work of The Six you vanish suddenly, without a reason, fueling them if possible fame already legendary.
