“Much of why I wanted to found a producer and make my own movies is because I want more of this industry. I want more of my experience as an artist. I felt thirsty for more conversation, more creativity, more collaboration,” she said in an interview with Variety.
The star admitted that she felt frustrated by participating in projects in which she lost creative control.
“Sometimes, as an actress, I found myself going to the premiere of a movie to watch it for the first time and thinking, ‘Wow. That’s not what I thought we were doing.’ That’s a very weird feeling,” he said.
