Damascus sends army to superstar amidst conflicts

The Syrian presidency announced on Friday night that it intends to send military forces to southern Syria, with the aim of “ending conflict” raging in the superstar between Druze and armed groups of local tribes. In its announcement, Damascus calls on “all sides” to demonstrate self -restraint and stresses that “the competent authorities are working to send a special force that will put an end to the conflict” while at the same time implementing measures “to stabilize the situation and return to the city”. Earlier, Israel agreed to allow limited access to the Syrian forces in the superstar for the next two days.
