During the second semifinal of dancing with the Stars surprises were not lacking at all.
First of all, the words that the teacher echoed Simone Di Pasquale had expressed a few months ago. “At my age, I no longer feel comfortable performing dancing on a stage. I talked about it with Milly Carlucci and she agrees with me », had communicated the dancer, announcing his farewell to the program in the role of teacher. Di Pasquale is one of the most continuous faces of the program, in which he has participated since the first edition since 2005, which he won by dancing together with the actress and presenter Hoara Borselli, thus becoming known to the general public.
In the 2021 edition it paired with English Bianca Gascoigne, who during the second semifinal read a letter in Italian in which he reiterated the teacher’s farewell: “[…] I feel so honored to be next to Simone in his latest chapter in Dancing. I hope I have made you at least a little proud ».
The jurors took the opportunity to express their admiration for the master, although this episode is not the last in which they see Di Pasquale; the couple he belongs to, in fact, after the repechage, has earned the final on Saturday 18 December 2021. Selvaggia Lucarelli recalled that Di Pasquale is the only person with whom he has not had heated discussions; “I’ve always told you that by far you are the most charismatic and the best at adapting to competitors,” he added. Guillermo Mariotto defined him as the greatest gentleman who took part in the program and Ivan Zazzaroni “a man of great elegance”, as well as one of the most important figures of dancing with the Stars. The finalist couples and an exceptional guest star
The second semi-final saw several emotionally charged moments, including the contestants’ surprise performance with a loved one. This some singular saw the award of ten bonus points to Arisa who danced with her father. But the surprise also aroused great emotion Morgan who reunited with her 8-year-old daughter Lara Castoldi, whom she hadn’t seen for two years, dancing with her to the notes of “Buonanotte fiorellino”.
As announced by the presenter on her Twitter channel, there was then the participation of an exceptional guest, Monica Bellucci, who played the role of the dancer for one evening, interpreting a tango with Di Pasquale.

At the end of the episode the six couples who will take part in the final: Arisa and Vito Coppola, Sabrina Salerno and Samuel Peron, Morgan and Alessandra Tripoli, Federico Lauri and Anastasia Kuzmina, Valeria Fabrizi and Giordano Filippo. To these is added the one formed by Di Pasquale and Gascoigne, preferred in the final ballot to the other duo fished out by the judges, Mietta-Maykel Fonts, and above all to the couple Alvise Rigo-Tove Villfor.
Thus ended the adventure in the program of the Swedish teacher and the rugby player, whose refusal to dance with her mother sparked various controversies on social networks; in an Instagram story, however, Rigo explained that his gesture was misunderstood and was actually aimed at protecting his mother.
