THE CNN expert in management and business Daniel Castanho spoke about one of the main qualities of a leader: influence. “We don’t teach what we know, we teach what we are. Leaders need to be role models,” he clarified.
To summarize the main characteristics of a leader in one word, Castanho chose “discernment”. According to him, a good leadership has to be open to listen, to know what is different and have empathy.
The expert explained that there are companies that have great leadership, and therefore follow the direction and pace of that leader. While other corporations have very diluted shares, making management more “democratic”, with a tendency to risk and innovate less.
“The best combination is the company led by a group of people, but with a shareholder as a reference”, evaluated Castanho.
