Daniel Craig, the future is on Broadway (with Macbeth)

The farewell has been formalized. And, shortly after, came the announcement of a new project, antithetical to what Daniel Craig he left behind. The former James Bond, in the room one last time with No time to die, has decided to stop the dress of the secret agent to dress the traditional one, not at the cinema, but at the theater. The actor, whose most recent work a Broadway dates back to 2013, when he starred alongside his wife Rachel Weisz in Betrayal, will return to the scene with the Macbeth by Shakespeare.

The show, produced – like the 007 films – by Barbara Broccoli, should debut in the spring of next year, at the Lyceum Theater in New York, where it should then remain on the calendar for the next fifteen weeks. In the play, of which it has not yet been said how faithful it will be to the original, Lady Macbeth will be played by the Ethiopian-Irish actress Ruth Negga.
