Daniel Silveira asks the STF to unblock his wife’s social networks

Daniel Silveira’s defense asked Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), this Tuesday (30), to reconsider the decision in which he determined the blocking of Paola da Silva Daniel’s social networks and bank accounts, his wife.

In the request, lawyer Mariane Cardoso claims that the measure was “disproportionate” and “arbitrary”. “The determination of the total blocking of Paola da Silva Daniel’s account is absolutely inappropriate. This is because, in addition to being invalid, the act that determined the unavailability of her assets is clearly disproportionate, as it substantially interferes with her financial daily life, in a way that harms her and her family’s dignity,” she said.

Last Thursday, the minister ordered the blocking of Paola Daniel’s bank accounts and social networks. The minister also ordered the Federal Police to summon Paola, within a maximum period of five days, to give evidence.

In the document, which is confidential and the CNN had access, the minister says that the profiles created on social networks are revealed as an artifice used by Daniel Silveira to reproduce the content that has already been blocked in these records, circumventing a court decision.

The minister also determined the abstention from creating profiles on any social networks, in order to allow their use by Daniel Silveira, “notably for the promotion, replication and sharing of fraudulent news (fake news) that affect the honor and safety of the Supreme Court”. and its ministers, attributing and/or insinuating the practice of illicit acts by members of the Supreme Court, under penalty of a daily fine of R$ 15 thousand in case of non-compliance.

In a note, the defense says that it sees with “concern the delivery of decisions that do not respect the Democratic State of Direct and are rendered in absentia of the Constitution”.
