Daniil Getmantsev emphasized that next year residents of Ukraine will be able to pay with cryptocurrencies for goods and services. The deputy noted that no tax benefits are provided.
“Until the end of 2024, a corresponding bill will be developed by the National Bank of Ukraine together with the IMF. The one that is in our Committee is not even being developed, but is being finalized. We will receive a specific official position of IMF experts regarding this bill, I think, approximately in the first or second quarter of next year,” Getmantsev said.
Investment income will be taxed, which the owner of the cryptocurrency must declare himself. Taxation is implemented according to the same model as with securities, the parliamentarian said.
According to him, the legalization of digital assets will bring the market out of the shadows and will bring additional revenue to the budget, which is forced to use borrowed funds to finance social programs.
Earlier, the founder of the KUNA crypto exchange, Mikhail Chobanyan, in an interview with Delo.ua, accused the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) of destroying the crypto market. According to the entrepreneur, it is impossible to expect the development of the crypto industry in the current conditions.
