Danone: Revised 2022 revenue estimates

Danone raised estimates for revenue growth in 2022 after second-quarter comparable sales rose 7.7%, beating analysts’ estimates of 5.6% growth, reflecting price increases and strong demand for baby food and bottled water.

Danone, which is the world’s biggest yogurt maker, said it now expects comparable sales to grow 5%-6% this year, down from a previous forecast of 3%-5% growth.

The consumer goods giant said its first-half recurring operating margin fell to 12.1% of sales from 13.1% in the first half of 2021, due to higher input cost inflation.

Danone restated that it expected recurring operating margin to be higher at 12% versus 13.7% in 2021.
