Dardust at Vanity Fair Stories: “Now I’d like to make films”

Dario Faini, aka Dardust, takes the stage of Vanity Fair Stories 2021 introduced by the director Simone Marchetti as the final guest of the festival. «Jovanotti, Mohmood, Elisa, The List Representative … And I could mention many others. You really collaborated with everyone, ”says Marchetti. The composer and producer, behind the biggest hits of recent years, explains that he has a degree in psychology and immediately understands the people I work with. For Dardust Mahmood “he is fussy”, Elodie “is always grateful”, Madame “is brilliant, she is the future”, Elisa “is multifaceted”.

Then the artist improvises the sound of the theater and the “red carpet” on the piano, as Marchetti asks him. He has often been abroad to compose, his place of choice is Iceland, where he attended the studios of Sigur Ros. “I understood who I wanted to be at 7, looking at an image of Ziggy Stardust, surely David Bowie was the strongest inspiration. They didn’t understand me right away, later at school they called me Lady Oscar, I already had dyed hair… ».

In the end, the producer confesses his next passion: «I think I have a lot to say with my music, which is the union of the piano with electronics, but I would like to work in cinema. One name above all, with whom I would like to work, is Luca Guadagnino ».
