Darknet market exchanger Hydra was selling BTC for 1 million rubles cheaper than the real exchange rate

The banned darknet marketplace Hydra has lost significant amounts of money due to the “human factor”. The administrators of the exchanger set the ruble BTC rate 30% lower than the real one.

On Friday, August 13, Ublhs users noticed that the dollar exchange rate of bitcoin in the Hydra exchanger corresponded to the real one, and the ruble rate was 1 million lower. Of course, many users immediately took advantage of the opportunity to increase their capital by 30% in a few minutes.

Unfortunately, it is not known how much the owners of the exchange service lost. The Hydra administration did not respond to questions from reporters. It is worth noting that the illegal Hydra market is focused on Russian users, so most exchange operations with cryptocurrencies take place in rubles.

At the time of publication, bitcoin is trading at $ 47,300, which in ruble terms is 3.47 million rubles.

Previously, the Hydra market offered a new way to cash out BTC. A “deposit” with fiat money is buried underground at a designated place where it is collected by the buyer or other informed person.
