Daughter of Brazilian missing after Hamas attack is found dead, says family

The 18 year old girl Tchelet Fishbein-Zaarur daughter of a Brazilian mother and called Celeste by her family, was found dead, her family informed CNN . The body was recognized by DNA testing.

Celeste’s uncle told CNN that the family received a warning from the Army that the young woman’s body had been found near the border with Gaza. The circumstances of death were not disclosed.

She had been missing since October 7, when Hamas carried out a surprise attack in Israel.

Celeste was on the list of those kidnapped by the Islamic extremist group, as informed by the Israeli embassy in Brazil and family members. CNN on Monday (16).

According to the Israeli government, Hamas holds 199 hostages in the Gaza Strip after the attack.

The Islamic extremist group carried out airstrikes, advanced into Israeli territory and invaded the area of ​​an electronic music festival, where 260 bodies were found.

Among those killed in the attack were three Brazilians: Ranani Nidejelski Glazer, 24, from Porto Alegre, and Bruna Valeanu, also 24, and Karla Stelzer, 42, from Rio.
