“Daughter” of Sberbank has already begun testing unmanned vehicles in Moscow, while for employees

SberAutoTech, the technology division of Sberbank of Russia, has begun testing unmanned vehicles for transporting passengers. So far, only employees of the company can take part in the tests of drones that are taking place in Moscow, as reported by representatives of SberAutoTech.

The movement of Sber unmanned vehicles is organized on Andropov Avenue between the SberAutoTech engineering center near the Technopark metro station and the MCC-ZIL station. So far, only employees of the company can order an unmanned taxi from Sberbank. This can be done using a special mobile application on a smartphone or a smart display from Sberbank.

The movement of SberAutoTech vehicles is carried out in a completely autonomous mode. True, the driver’s seat is occupied by a test engineer – these are the requirements of Russian legislation.

How many drones SberAutoTech is testing at the initial stage is not specified. But the company said that everything will depend directly on demand. During testing, engineers will analyze user scenarios to make sure that the interaction of passengers with driverless taxis is as simple and intuitive as possible. At the end of the tests, the company plans to make the service available not only to employees, but also to ordinary users. True, when this will happen is not specified.
