The BBB 24 champion, David Brito, 21 spoke out, on Monday night (27), about the controversy surrounding the use of donations which he raised for victims of the rains in Rio Grande do Sul . Criticism of the young man arose after he admitted that he used part of the money to pay for his travel to the state.
“Initially, I asked people for Pix because I really didn’t yet have the financial means to go to Rio Grande do Sul with my own means,” he told the newspaper O Globo. “But I managed to raise a good amount of money. I was able to help many people by providing food, mineral water and other supplies.”
Faced with the repercussions, David, who won almost R$3 million on BBB 24 , spoke out on his social networks and denied having used the money donated to the victims of the rains. “It's just to clarify the people who still have doubts or who think that I took donated money to buy a ticket. I didn't get it. A company saw my attitude, applauded and helped me.”
“It's sad to know that even though we want to help people who are going through such a difficult time, there are always people criticizing. Even though I'm going to help from the bottom of my heart. But, in any case, I thank everyone who helped, and I am now accountable with all the receipts and invoices”, he said.
