BBB24 (Big Brother Brasil) presenter Tadeu Schmidt, 49, praised the participation of Davi Brito, 21, winner of the 2024 edition of the program. “David has incredible merit. He is a champion who gave himself, wanted to play the whole time and found joy in every victory,” he said. “He faced everyone and that is very important. It was a commendable stance.”
Davi became the BBB24 champion on April 16, winning a prize of almost R$3 million.
Schmidt made the statement during the first episode of the eighth season of Conversa com Bial, on TV Globo. The program aired on Monday night (22). The presenter began the interview emotional after listening to the presentation speech by Pedro Bial, 66, and finding an audience full of former BBB participants.
According to Schmidt, BBB24 was the most popular edition since the show began in 2022. “Everyone I met asked me about the program,” said the presenter.
The effects of the last three months the program was on air still weigh on Schmidt. “I haven't rested the main yet. The physical part, even though I don't sleep much, I'm taking it. And I went to work out every day, lifting weights. But the fatigue is mental. All I want now is not to think about anything, because I'm thinking about the speech, the test. There are a hundred days in which I never stop thinking. It’s a huge mental and emotional effort,” said Schmidt.
“I get too involved with what’s inside. So it really affects me,” she added.
Bial, who hosted the popular reality show from 2002 to 2016, agreed with Schmidt, saying that the intellectual effort of those who work on the program is very great.
During the interview, Bial recalled Schmidt's role as a volleyball athlete and TV reporter. Schmidt is the brother of former basketball player Oscar Schmidt.
“I dedicated myself a lot. I wanted to be a volleyball player. The problem was that I started thinking that the only thing I could be was the best in the world, the Oscar (Schimidt) of volleyball. I went to the Brazilian Children's Team, but I was cut. And there I dropped it. I think I made the wrong decision and I regretted it for a long time,” he said.
Schmidt also reflected on other topics, such as career and prejudice in the world.
“For me, the origin of prejudice is misinformation, lack of knowledge. People get to know things and stop being prejudiced. It is a slow but inexorable process. It will happen,” she said.
