David Beckham “transfers” his Instagram account to the Ukrainian doctor Iryna Kondratova

Since the conflict between Russia and Ukraine began, hundreds of people have been cut off from social networks, some due to bombings and disasters and many more due to restrictions imposed by the Russian government.

Faced with these terrible events, the famous came together to try to help. One of them was David Beckham, who started a fundraiser through his foundation for Unicef. But that was not all, because he also gave up his Instagram account so that a doctor could recount the ravages left by the war.

Through photos and videos, the former soccer player began exposing to his more than 71 million followers the havoc that the terrible conflict between Ukraine and Russia is leaving. In addition, he started a fundraiser through his foundation for Unicef. With his campaign he wants to provide immediate support to children and hundreds of affected families, even he was the first to make a large donation together with his wife Victoria Beckham, because together they gave a million dollars from his own pocket.

However, Beckham’s work did not end only in donating money, but in a second initiative of his campaign to help, “he gave” his Instagram account to the Ukrainian doctor Iryna Kondratova, director of the Kharkov perinatal center, so that, from her perspective, she can relate what is happening in the country.

In the social network, the doctor will be able to share stories, videos, photos and texts without being censored. In addition, she will explain the conditions in the city’s neonatal ward, which was set up in a basement to keep babies safe during the bombing.

For Beckham it is just a small step among all the help that can be given to people who are experiencing these terrible events, at least that is how he left it to be seen in a video shared on the same account.

Today I am going to hand over my social networks to Iryna, head of the Regional Perinatal Center in Kharkov, Ukraine, where they are helping mothers to give birth. Head over to my story highlights to learn more about her incredible work and that of all healthcare workers who, like her, are doing commendable work to save lives.

On the other hand, Iryna made it clear that her work is informative and that she and the other doctors do not think they are risking their lives, but are just doing their job.

We may be risking our lives, but we don’t think about that at all. We are passionate about our work. The doctors and nurses here worry, we cry, but none of us will give up.

Leonardo DiCaprio, who donated 10 million dollars, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher and even stylists, business groups and fashion brands are the ones who continue to financially support and send humanitarian aid to people in the midst of the conflict and wishing, like the rest of people, that this whole situation can end soon.
