DC Comics’ “Black Adam” Premieres This Wednesday (19)

The long-awaited feature of the new DC Comics anti-hero, “Black Adam” , arrived in Brazilian cinemas this Wednesday (19). The premiere was scheduled for the 20th, but fans can already watch the film in advance screenings throughout Brazil.

Five thousand years after he was bestowed with the omnipotent powers of the ancient gods – and imprisoned soon afterward, Teth-Adam is freed from his earthly tomb and is ready to bring his unique form of justice to the modern world.

It is the character’s debut in the DC cinematic universe.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (“The Orphan” and “Jungle Cruise”), the film stars Dwayne Johnson known as “The Rock”, and has names such as: Pierce Brosnan (“007” and “Mamma Mia!”); Aldis Hodge (“A Night in Miami” and “Straight Outta Compton: The NWA Story”); Noah Centineo (“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” and “The Perfect Date”); and Quintessa Swindell (“Gatunas” and “Voyagers”).

In The Rock’s words, on social media, “Black Adam” It is a slave, but blessed with the power of Superman. “He’s filled with rage that his family was ripped from him and gone forever. You may not agree with Black Adam’s form of justice, but he is a protector of his people and will always do what is right,” he wrote.

“ANDhe unleashes hell on those who deserve it and is the most powerful and unstoppable force on this planet. The new era in the DC universe has begun,” he declared.

The actor said he struggled for 15 years to make the film. The announcement that he would give life to the character of the comics on the big screen came out in 2007. “It was thestudio executives saying ‘is there any other DC superhero you want to play instead of black adam’ and my answer has always been no.”

“He was a hero of color who mattered to me then, as he matters to me now. Children of all colors around the world will now be able to see themselves in Black Adam,” he added.
