DC Comics and Palm NFT Studio will release NFT based on the publisher’s comics. Free NFTs will be available to anyone registering for DC FanDome October 2021.
Last fall, the DC FanDome 2020 conference series drew 22 million viewers to talk about the brand’s new comics, films, TV shows and video games. The publisher expects even more attendees at FanDome October 2021.
DC Comics announced a partnership with Palm NFT Studio to create a new line of NFTs. The publishers will offer digital collectibles based on the covers of the Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Harley Quinn and Green Lantern comics. All NFTs will be free. Starting October 5, DC FanDome will be providing NFTs to anyone who registers for the October 16 event. Users will be able to get a second free NFT by sharing information about the event on social media. Given the size of last year’s streaming event viewer base, DC expects its initiative to be “one of the largest NFT giveaways ever.” A company spokesman confirmed that Palm could potentially release millions of free NFTs. DC publisher and creative director Jim Lee chose the artwork for each collectible, according to the company. Comic covers will be available in three levels of rarity. Palm says the initiative is the first step in its partnership with DC.
Recall that in March, one of the largest comic book publishers announced that it could start launching its own lines of collectible tokens (NFT) based on popular comics.
