The Lebanese army announced today Friday 11/10 the death of two of its soldiers by Israeli fire at one of the army positions in southern Lebanon, where the Israeli army and Hezbollah are in open war. “The Israeli enemy targeted a military position in Kafra, in the south, leaving two martyrs and three wounded,” the army said in a statement. This brings to four the number of Lebanese soldiers who have been killed since the intensification of Israeli bombardment of Lebanon began on September 23. Investigation underway into wounding of UN members The Israeli military said it was “conducting a thorough investigation at the highest level” after the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced two more injuries among peacekeepers stationed near the border with Israel. “The Israeli military has been informed that two UN peacekeepers were accidentally injured during (the Israeli military’s) fighting against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon,” he said.
