The agent was hit on Monday morning (19) during a due diligence by the Consumer Police Station (Decon) in the West Zone community. The operation targeted an investigation into the sale of ice contaminated with fecal coliforms on the beaches of Barra da Tijuca and Recreio.
After being shot, Lourenço Junior was taken to the Lourenço Jorge Municipal Hospital in Barra, but could not resist the injuries. The funeral was held at the Jardim da Saudade de Sulacap Cemetery in the West Zone, from noon, followed by the burial at 2:30 pm.
Reaction of the authorities
The governor of Rio, Claudio Castro, spoke through social networks, stating that “the response to the death of this policeman will be given to the time.” Castro determined that the police do not leave the city of God until those responsible for the murder are found.
