“Daughter, today you would be 23 years old. I stayed here thinking how your life would be now. If you would be in college, if you would already have a love, if you would still sleep with me on the most complicated days and what it would be like to see you, Miguel and Mife growing together. You being the older, always loving and protective sister.

Did you know it’s so hard? Because longing never passed, it only changed place. There are days when I just wanted to hear your voice calling me mom, see you entering the house with that smile that illuminated everything. I keep you all with such affection, your photos, your drawings, your letters.

Sometimes I close my eyes and I can feel you here with me. And for a second, just for a second, it seems that nothing has changed. But everything has changed. Changed the course of my life. Changed who I am. But one thing has never changed, nor will it change: the great love I feel for you. I love you with everything I am.

And on April 18th I just wanted to tell you how grateful I am for living these five years by your side, my daughter. I would give everything to live another birthday with you. Happy birthday, my love. You live in me forever. I love you lots. With a lot, a lot of love from your mother. ”

Remember the case

Isabella Nardoni was murdered on March 29, 2008.

According to the court, she was thrown from the sixth floor of the building where her father, Alexandre Nardoni, lived in the north of São Paulo.

The investigation revealed that Isabella was assaulted by stepmother Anna Carolina Jatobá, who stained her and asphibly. Alexandre would then have cut the protection net and thrown the girl. Isabella died on her way to the hospital.

Anna Carolina Jatobá left prison last year after obtaining the progression to the open regime. Nardoni, who is also in the open regime, was released in December 2024 to spend the holidays at a high standard condominium in Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo.
