Dead police officer in jihadist attack in Iran – three perpetrators killed

A jihadist attack claimed the life of a police officer in an area where the situation has been extremely tense for decades in southeastern Iran, Iranian media said yesterday, adding that three perpetrators were also killed. “A police officer in Saravan was killed when some terrorists tried to penetrate a police station” in the community in Sistan-Baluchistan, the Tasnim news agency reported. The attackers were members of the Sunni jihadist organization Jaya al -Adal (“Army of Justice” in Arabic), which is based in Pakistan and acts in the southeastern part of Iran, according to the same source.
