Another deadly landslide in its northern region Venezuela cost the life to at least three of its inhabitantsannounced yesterday (17/10) the president of the Latin American country, Nicolas Maduro.
The president made this announcement during his intervention from the city of Las Tejerias, where a week ago a landslide claimed life to at least 54 people while 8 are still missing, according to the latest report given by the head of state.
The first information speaks of extensive material damage due to it landslidewhich occurred in Castanio, a suburb of Maracay, the capital of the state of Aragua, approximately 83 kilometers from Caracas.
Footage broadcast by Venezuela’s public television showed torrents of mud engulfing everything in front of them, sweeping away vehicles, trees and huge rocks, the Athens-Macedonian News Agency reported, citing AFP.
