Death of young woman hit by microlight in RJ occurred by accident, police say

Caroline Kethlin de Almeida Ribeiro, aged 22, died on September 9. She was taking a walk when she was hit in the head by a motorized ultralight that lost control inside a flying club in Nova Iguaçu (RJ).

The pilot of the ultralight was indicted for manslaughter after the analysis carried out by the police. This means that whoever was responsible for driving the aircraft at the time had no intention of killing her.

According to the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), the club was not certified to offer pilot training courses.
