At least 42 people have died in floods that have swept through Mai Mahiu district in central Kenya, and police have warned that the death toll could rise after a dam broke, Citizen Television reported today. Photos posted on the X platform accounts of Kenyan media, the Kenya Red Cross and the highways agency show the aftermath of the floods with broken trees and at least one car stuck in the mud between tree trunks.
