Decision ordering closure of Allianz Parque is suspended

The Allianz Parque arena, which had been administratively closed due to the “emission of noise above what is permitted by law” during the show by the American band Maroon 5, which took place last Tuesday (5), may be reopened after a decision injunction favorable to the administrator of the stadium, the company WTorre.

With that, the match between Palmeiras and Ceará, valid for the first round of the Brasileirão, is maintained for this Saturday (9).

The closure took place due to an inspection action by the Psiu Program, the urban silence limit law of the city of São Paulo.

Judge Marcelo Stabel de Carvalho Hannoun, of the 3rd Public Finance Court, granted the preliminary injunction made by the stadium administrator, justifying that the municipal law does not consider sports meetings and music bands as long as they hold events at local time and previously authorized by the organ. competent.

In the decision, the judge also mentioned doubts about the real offender and the occurrence of recidivism.

Allianz has already been fined 3 times by the Psiu law, twice in 2017 and the last time on the day of the Maroon 5 show, which generated the request for administrative closure by the City Hall. The court’s decision to allow the events and other activities at Allianz is provisional, “until the final judgment of the demand”, said the judge.

In a statement, WTorre stated that “there is ongoing work to mitigate possible interference in the region in the dates of shows and events, seeking best practices and implementing measures for good coexistence”.
