It stays in GDP

The Brazilian economy retreated 0.1% in the third quarter of 2021, configuring a scenario of technical recession: when the Gross Domestic Product presents a decline for two consecutive quarters.

The data, which are slightly worse than the 0.1% increase expected by the market, were released this Thursday (2) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

Masks in SP

The government of São Paulo backed down and gave up on allowing the use of masks in outdoor environments, a measure that was scheduled to take effect on December 11th. The announcement was made this Thursday by Governor João Doria, who is in New York, in the United States, on work.

New Year’s Eve in São Paulo

The city of São Paulo canceled the traditional New Year’s Eve party on Avenida Paulista. At least 18 other capitals decided not to make the turnaround party because of concerns about the new variant of the coronavirus and clusters.

Drug against Covid-19

The UK has approved yet another antibody cocktail for the treatment of Covid-19. Known as Sotrovimab, the drug is developed by British pharmaceutical company GSK.

Rio de Janeiro expanded the requirement for proof of vaccination in the city. Starting this Thursday, it will be charged at more establishments such as bars, malls and gyms.
