A crucial meeting will be held by the Board. of the Union of European Energy Distribution Companies “GEODE” tomorrow in Brussels with the participation, on behalf of Greece, of the CEO of DEDA and elected member of the Board. of GEODE, Marios Tsaka.
At the center of the Board meeting GEODE will address the burning issue of the European energy crisis, which is being fed back by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as the implications for its citizens and Energy Network Operators. In this context, the root causes of the energy crisis will be identified and the joint European action “REPowerEU”, announced by the European Commission on 8 March 2022, for affordable, secured and sustainable energy, will be analyzed in depth.
Also, at the GEODE meeting, the positions and measures of the Versailles Declaration issued by the EU leaders will be evaluated. on 10-11 / 03/2022, while the EU proposals will be discussed. which were sent to the European Parliament and the Council on 23/03/2022 to take immediate action and prepare for next winter to ensure security of supply and affordable energy prices.
Finally, the draft of ACER, the Agency for Cooperation of Energy Regulators of the European Union, on the optimization of the Electricity market will be examined.
At the same time, the CEO of DEDA, as a member of the Special Committee of the Board, will participate in the work to review the strategy of GEODE.
