Sean’s “Diddy” Combs, 55 defense is trying to argue to the jury that Cassie Ventura’s relationship, 37, and the rapper was more complicated than the accusation painted, a reporter said from CNN in court. The trial of the hip-hop tycoon began on Monday (12) and, on Thursday (15), Diddy’s lawyers are interrogating their ex-girlfriend.
Prosecutors, during their direct interrogation from Ventura, claimed that Combs committed a “crime of sex trafficking,” explained the correspondent of CNN Kara Scannell.
“The defense of Combs is that there was domestic violence in this relationship, he is not running away from it, but says it was not sexual trafficking,” said Scannell.
The defense is arguing that many of the fights between Combs and Cassie Ventura occurred because of infidelity on both sides. In response to their questioning, Ventura witnessed that drug use made them annoyed.
“This is another way the defense here is trying to create a more complicated scene than the theory of the accusation case,” she said.
The defense also asked Ventura if the Comb team knew about the Freak Offs. This refers to the accusation of extortion against Combs, in which the accusation claims that he was using his business and his company to commit these crimes, said Scannell.
Ventura witnessed on Thursday that he did not tell the Comb team about sexual meetings, but on Wednesday (14) she detailed like some of the Comb assistants and other employees helped make arrangements for companions and hotel rooms.
